Shipping FAQS
Covid-19 Update
Like others in our industry, we are experiencing global supply chain disruptions. We’re leveraging our operational expertise and responding in ways to minimize impact on your order.
What this means for you is some items may have extended shipping times. Our shipping courier, FedEx, is experiencing record-breaking shipment volume, which may be contributing to your shipping delays. Learn more about FedEx delays here.

Shipping + Delivery
We currently ship to select states in the United States. You will find all current approximated shipping times located on the product pages. These shipping times are updated daily.
Shipping + Delivery Options
Most items can be shipped via FedEx Ground. Larger items or multiple items in an order may be shipped via multiple methods. During checkout, you will choose from the available shipping and delivery options for your order.
FedEx Ground
FedEx Ground shipping is used for small orders weighing less than 150 pounds that have passed FedEx testing. FedEx shipping is free to all available regions.
Standard Delivery
Standard Delivery service is available for large or heavy items that may be cumbersome to lift by yourself or up many stairs. With this service, your delivery will be scheduled at your convenience and the delivery team will carry your order inside your door.
- Standard delivery fees are 17% of your order subtotal with a $75USD/$100CAD minimum.
- You will receive an email when your order is registered with one of our local delivery partners. Our local partner will contact you within 72 hours of receiving the product to schedule a mutually agreed upon delivery date and time.
- Steelcase reserves the right to cancel or change an order to HI, AK and CAN if the appropriate services are not available.
- Steelcase uses trusted third party installers in your area to perform these services. As a result, delivery may take an additional 3–5 days, allowing the local installer to take receipt of your product and schedule a delivery appointment.
Professional Installation
Professional Delivery and Installation is considered our premier shipping and delivery service. When selected, the delivery agent will unload, assemble and arrange all your products. They will also remove all packaging materials that accompanied your item(s).
- Professional Installation fees are 20% of your order subtotal with a $175USD/$225CAD minimum.
- Steelcase reserves the right to cancel or change an order to HI, AK, and CAN if the appropriate services are not available.
- Steelcase uses trusted third party installers in your area to perform these services. As a result, delivery may take an additional 3–5 days, allowing the local installer to take receipt of your product and schedule a delivery appointment.
- Professional Delivery and Installation may not be available to select regions in Canada. During checkout, if the shipping address provided cannot be serviced by our Professional Installation and Delivery partners, the order will be rejected.
Ready to Ship
We offer next business day shipping on select products. Order by 6pm EST for next business day shipping. If Standard Delivery or Professional Delivery and Installation is selected during checkout, delivery may take an additional 3–5 days, allowing the local installer to take receipt of your product and schedule a delivery appointment.
Additional Shipping Details
- Our packaging is not export approved; thus our shipping/invoice documents do not include information required by US Customers for exportation. Because of this we will not ship to freight forwarders.
- If Standard Delivery or Professional Delivery and Installation is selected, and there is a delay in delivery due to the customer, a storage fee may apply. The customer will be responsible for paying this fee.
